We are pleased to have Steve MacWilliams speak to us about content management and what it means to us as records managers. Steve has had a 30 year career building systems for businesses, government, profits and non-profits. He likes to think of where we are now, is at the intersection of “bloat ware” and “good-enough” technology. What is the right fit for your company? And how do you know. His topic will be SharePoint and what is the Microsoft play for document management and how does it fit into an overall plan of governance and records and information management.
Steve is currently a vice-president at DocuSource, a leading Microsoft provider for content management here in Southern California is a certified document management architect. He has authored 7 patents in the field of barcode symbols specifically relating to document and record management practices and methods. He is well versed in the differences between transactional document management and collaborative document management. Prior to DocuSource he managed and was the principles of companies well known in Southern California, Document Control Solutions and Smead Information Systems.
